Terms of Service

1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Brain Coach. By using the app you confirm that you are an adult using it for yourself, or that you are a family member, carer, or speech-language professional using it to support someone in their recovery.
2. Description of Service
Brain Coach is a gentle, gamified speech & language practice web app for adults recovering from stroke (aphasia). It offers picture-naming, sentence, listening, reading, sorting, number, and clock exercises, with progress tracking, daily streaks, and optional reminders.
Brain Coach is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional medical care, speech-language therapy, or rehabilitation. It is a practice and self-training tool. Always follow the guidance of your doctor or speech-language therapist. If you experience new or worsening symptoms, seek medical help immediately.
Some features require a paid subscription; free features may be limited.
3. Accounts and Sign-In
Brain Coach uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a one-time code to log in. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for promptly reporting any unauthorized access. Creating an account enables cloud sync of your progress across devices.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Brain Coach offers auto-renewable subscriptions. Subscription plans, prices, and any free-trial terms are shown at checkout before you pay.
If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Payments are processed by Stripe, and subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your account or the customer portal we provide.
Where you are entitled to a statutory cancellation/withdrawal right under applicable law, that right applies; otherwise, refunds are handled by us in line with our refund practices — contact [email protected].
Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance and apply at the next billing period.
5. Your Content and Data
You retain ownership of the information you enter (your email, profile responses, and exercise progress). You grant Mimi Studio d.o.o. a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process that content as necessary to provide the service. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing on third-party rights.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use the app for any unlawful purpose, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer the app, deploy automated scrapers, or circumvent access restrictions or paywalls.
7. Intellectual Property
Brain Coach and all associated content (code, brand, designs, exercises, and content) are owned by Mimi Studio d.o.o. and protected by copyright and trademark law. You receive a limited, non-commercial, non-transferable license to use the app on your personal devices.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. Brain Coach is not a substitute for professional medical or therapeutic advice. Exercises and feedback are for practice only and do not assess or diagnose any medical condition. Voice recognition is supportive and intentionally forgiving; it does not measure or score your speech clinically.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mimi Studio d.o.o.'s total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any health outcome or decision made in reliance on the app.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Mimi Studio d.o.o. harmless from claims arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the app.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You can stop using the service at any time and request account deletion by emailing [email protected].
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia. Disputes are resolved first through good-faith negotiation, and otherwise before the competent court in Ljubljana.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mimi Studio d.o.o. regarding Brain Coach.
15. Modifications
We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated in-app or by email with at least 30 days' notice.
